New model with improved features: The Moccamaster Select

The new Moccamaster Select model can do a lot more compared to its predecessor model Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model adapts even better to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a full cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents wasting brewed coffee. Hence the new name Select. Additionally, the rubber ring of the water flow has holes in it, preventing it from calcifying quickly.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee machine that prides itself as one of the best in the world - and not without reason. Each machine has been handmade for more than 45 years and individually tested by the company Technivorm before being sent to its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 l, which equates to about 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time for coffee is only 5 to 6 minutes. During this time, water is heated to a temperature between 92°C and 96°C and drizzled over the coffee grounds using the so-called water pour-over method through a funnel inlet. Brewing temperature and brewing time are crucial, as they ensure that the solids in the coffee dissolve optimally and that the valuable aromas are released as best as possible. The result is a harmonious balance of acidity and bitterness that promises a special coffee enjoyment.

After 20 minutes, the coffee machine automatically switches off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80°C and 85°C. After brewing, the coffee should not be reheated and not kept warm for longer than an hour, as this will lead to the development of undesirable aromas that can spoil the flavor experience.
When removing the glass carafe, an automatic drip stop is activated, preventing liquid from dripping onto the still-hot plates. The warming plate can be individually adjusted. It has a full circle where the temperature is maintained at 80°C to 85°C for 6 to 8 cups, as well as a three-quarter circle where the temperature can be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass carafe also features a mixing lid with an integrated funnel. This makes stirring unnecessary before serving; the mixing is nonetheless better and the temperature is maintained longer.
