New model with improved features: The Moccamaster Select

The new Moccamaster Select model can do quite a bit more compared to its predecessor, the Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model adapts even better to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a full cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents unnecessarily brewed coffee from being thrown away. Hence the new name Select. Furthermore, the rubber ring of the water flow is equipped with holes, making it less prone to lime scale buildup.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee machine, boasting one of the best reputations in the world €“ and for good reason. Each machine has been handmade for over 45 years and individually tested by the company Technivorm before it reaches its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 L, which translates to approximately 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time for the coffee is only 5 to 6 minutes. The water is heated to a temperature between 92°C and 96°C and is gently poured over the coffee grounds using the so-called water shower method. Brewing temperature and brewing time are extremely important, as they ensure that the solids in the coffee dissolve optimally and that the valuable aromas can unfold as best as possible. The result is a harmonious balance of sweetness and bitterness that promises a very special coffee experience.

After 20 minutes, the coffee machine automatically shuts off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80°C and 85°C. After brewing, it should not be reheated or kept warm for longer than one hour, as this can develop undesirable flavors that spoil the taste experience.
When removing the glass pot, an automatic drip stop is activated, preventing liquid from dripping onto the still-hot plates. The hot plate can be individually regulated. It features a full circle, where the temperature is maintained at 80°C to 85°C for 6 to 8 cups, as well as a three-quarter circle, where the temperature can also be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass pot is also equipped with a mixing lid that has an integrated funnel. Stirring before serving becomes unnecessary, mixing is better, and the temperature is maintained longer.

The new Moccamaster KBG Select is suitable for 10 cups as well as smaller quantities of 4 cups. Thanks to the new selection switch, you can easily choose between a full or half carafe. When brewing a half carafe, the coffee flows more slowly. The result is an aromatic cup of coffee with full flavor, regardless of the number of cups. Very economical with energy

The 1450-watt copper heating element of the Moccamaster Select switches off as soon as the water tank is empty. The light on the right switch then goes out.
