The new Moccamaster Select model can do much more compared to the predecessor model Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model adapts even better to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a whole cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents unnecessary brewed coffee from being thrown away. Hence the new name Select. Furthermore, the rubber ring of the water flow is equipped with holes, so it is less likely to become calcified.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee maker, boasting to be one of the best in the world - and for good reason. Every machine has been handcrafted for over 45 years and is individually tested by the company Technivorm before it embarks on its journey to its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 l, which is approximately 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time for the coffee is only 5 to 6 minutes. The water is heated to a temperature between 92°C and 96°C and showered over the ground coffee using the so-called water shower method. Brewing temperature and brewing time are enormously important, as they ensure that the solids in the coffee dissolve optimally and that the valuable aromas can unfold in the best way. The result is a harmonious balance of acidity and bitterness, promising a very special coffee enjoyment.

After 20 minutes, the coffee machine automatically switches off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80°C and 85°C. After the brewing process, it should not be reheated or kept warm for longer than an hour, as unwanted aromas develop that can spoil the taste experience.
When the glass jug is removed, an automatic drip stop engages, preventing liquid from dripping onto the still hot plates. The hot plate can be individually adjusted. It features a full circle that maintains the temperature at 80°C to 85°C for 6 to 8 cups and a three-quarter circle, where the temperature can also be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass jug also has a mixing lid with an integrated funnel. This makes stirring before serving obsolete, the mixing is better, and the temperature is retained longer.
