New model with improved features: The Moccamaster Select

The new Moccamaster Select model can do quite a bit more compared to its predecessor model Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model adapts even better to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a whole cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents unnecessary brewed coffee from being thrown away. Hence the new name Select. Additionally, the rubber ring of the water flow is equipped with holes, so it calks less quickly.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee machine, which boasts being one of the best in the world - and not without reason. Each machine has been handcrafted for over 45 years and individually tested by the company Technivorm before it is sent to its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 l, which translates to about 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time of the coffee is only 5 to 6 minutes. Water is heated to a temperature between 92 °C and 96 °C and is poured over the coffee grounds using the so-called water spray method through a funnel inlet. Brewing temperature and brewing time are extremely important, as they ensure that the solids in the coffee dissolve optimally, while the valuable aromas can unfold as best as possible. The result is a harmonious balance of acidity and bitterness that promises a very special coffee experience.

After 20 minutes, the coffee machine automatically switches off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80 °C and 85 °C. After the brewing process, it should not be reheated or kept warm for longer than one hour, as this can develop undesirable aromas that cloud the taste experience.
When removing the glass jug, an automatic drip stop is activated that prevents liquid from dripping onto the still hot plates. The hot plate can be individually controlled. It has a full circle where the temperature is maintained at 80 °C to 85 °C for 6 to 8 cups, as well as a three-quarter circle, where the temperature can also be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass jug also has a mixing lid with an integrated funnel. Stirring before serving becomes obsolete, as the mixing is nonetheless better and the temperature is maintained longer.
