Brewing filter coffee The classic coffee preparation

With the drip coffee machine with a thermal carafe, you can easily and quickly prepare filter coffee. What is the right amount of filter coffee We recommend 60-70g of coffee grounds for one liter of filter coffee. Thus, for a full pot of Moccamaster filter coffee, you need approximately 75 to 88g depending on strength. Why is brewing temperature and brewing time so important At the proper temperature, constituents in the coffee grounds are optimally dissolved, and with the necessary time, the brewed coffee develops its full aroma. It results in a delicious coffee flavor.

Moccamaster KBG Select, the coffee machine for small and large amounts

The new Moccamaster KBG Select for 10 cups as well as for smaller amounts of 4 cups. Thanks to the new selection switch, one can easily choose between a full or half carafe. With a half carafe, the coffee flows through more slowly. The result is an aromatic cup of coffee with full flavor, regardless of the number of cups. Thus, the Moccamaster KBG Select is the perfect coffee machine for both large and small amounts.

Very economical with electricity

The 1450-watt copper heating element of the Moccamaster Select switches off as soon as the water tank is empty. The light in the right switch then turns off.

The position of the right switch does not affect that. From then on, the machine only consumes 25-70 watts of energy through the intelligent warming plate, which automatically adjusts the heat to the amount of coffee in the carafe. This way, your coffee is never too hot or too bitter.

Why are brewing temperature and brewing time so important
At a temperature of 92 - 96 °C, the solids are dissolved, and the right flavor and best aroma are extracted. This results in a good balance between acidity and bitterness.

Why is the temperature after brewing so important
The coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80 - 85 °C. The coffee should not be reheated after brewing, as undesirable aromas can develop. The coffee should not be kept warm for longer than an hour after brewing.

What is the right amount of coffee
A Moccamaster spoon (included) holds 12 grams of coffee grounds (for 2 cups). For a full pot, we recommend 60-75 grams.

The traditional drip coffee machine from Moccamaster. In just 6 minutes, up to 10 cups (1.25 liters) of coffee are brewed fresh at an optimal temperature of 92-96°C, for less acidity and bitterness. Subsequently, the heating element turns off automatically.
