New model with improved features: The Moccamaster Select

The new model Moccamaster Select offers quite a bit more compared to the previous model Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model adapts even better to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a full cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents the wastage of unnecessarily brewed coffee. Hence the new name Select. Additionally, the rubber ring of the water flow is equipped with holes, which reduces the risk of scaling.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee maker, boasting one of the best performances worldwide - and for good reason. Each machine has been handcrafted for over 45 years and individually tested by the company Technivorm before it makes its way to its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 l, which translates to about 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time is only 5 to 6 minutes. The water is heated to a temperature between 92°C and 96°C and is drizzled over the coffee grounds using the so-called water shower method. Brewing temperature and brewing time are extremely important, as they ensure that the solids in the coffee dissolve optimally and that the valuable aromas can unfold most effectively. The result is a harmonious balance of acidity and bitterness, promising an exceptional coffee experience.

After 20 minutes, the coffee maker automatically turns off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80°C and 85°C. After brewing, it should not be reheated and also not kept warm for more than an hour, as undesirable aromas can develop that spoil the taste experience.
When removing the glass carafe, an automatic drip stop is activated, preventing liquids from dripping onto the still hot plates. The warming plate is individually adjustable. It has a full circle where the temperature is maintained at 80°C to 85°C for 6 to 8 cups, as well as a three-quarter circle, where the temperature can also be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass carafe also features a mixing lid that has an integrated funnel. Stirring before serving becomes obsolete, mixing is better, and the temperature is maintained longer.
