New model with improved features: The Moccamaster Select

The new Moccamaster Select model can do much more compared to its predecessor, the Moccamaster KBG 741. The new model better adapts to your needs. Thanks to the newly integrated selection button, you can now choose between a full cup of coffee or a half cup of coffee. This prevents unnecessary brewed coffee from being wasted. Hence the new name Select. Additionally, the rubber ring of the water flow has been equipped with holes, reducing the quick calcification of the device.

The Moccamaster KBG Select is a high-quality filter coffee machine, boasting to be one of the best of its kind in the world - and not without reason. Each machine has been handcrafted for over 45 years and individually tested by the company Technivorm before going to its new owner.

The KBG Select has a capacity of 1.25 l, which is equivalent to about 10 cups of coffee. The brewing time for coffee is only 5 to 6 minutes. During this time, the water is heated to a temperature between 92 °C and 96 °C and drizzled over the coffee grounds using the so-called water splashing method. Brewing temperature and brewing time are enormously important, as they ensure that solids in the coffee dissolve optimally and that the valuable aromas unfold as perfectly as possible. The result is a harmonious balance of sourness and bitterness, promising a very special coffee enjoyment.

After 20 minutes, the coffee machine automatically shuts off, as coffee tastes best at a temperature between 80 °C and 85 °C. After brewing, it should not be reheated and should not be kept warm for more than an hour, as this can develop unwanted aromas that tarnish the taste experience.
When removing the glass carafe, an automatic drip stop is activated, preventing fluid from dripping onto the still hot plates. The warming plate can be individually regulated. It features a full circle, where the temperature is maintained at 80 °C to 85 °C for 6 to 8 cups, as well as a three-quarter circle, where the temperature can also be maintained for less than 6 cups. The glass carafe also has a mixing lid with an integrated funnel. Stirring before serving becomes unnecessary, mixing is better, and the temperature is maintained for longer.

Very economical with electricity

The 1450-watt copper heating element of the Moccamaster Select switches off as soon as the water reservoir is empty. The light in the right switch then goes out.

The position of the right switch has no influence on this. From then on, the machine consumes only 25-70 watts of power through the intelligent warming plate, which automatically adjusts the heat to the amount of coffee in the carafe. This way, your coffee is never too hot or too bitter.
