Why a special food for British Shorthair cats
British Shorthair cats (BKH) have a robust and muscular body. To maintain their strength and fitness, they need the right nutrients.
ROYAL CANIN British Shorthair Adult is specially tailored to meet the nutritional needs of British Shorthair cats. Due to the sturdy body structure of BKH, the protein content of ROYAL CANIN British Shorthair Adult food has been adjusted to contribute to the maintenance of lean muscle mass in British Shorthair cats. The food is also enriched with L-Carnitine, a nutrient that supports fat metabolism.
The included Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) ensure healthy bones and joints, enabling a BKH to maintain normal activity.
By including taurine (an amino acid) along with EPA and DHA fatty acids, ROYAL CANIN British Shorthair Adult contributes to maintaining the heart function of the BKH.
The specially developed, balanced mineral content supports the urinary tract function of a British Shorthair cat.
The specially designed kibbles of ROYAL CANIN British Shorthair Adult food are tailored to the broad jaw of the British Shorthair cat. The large and curved kibbles make it easier for them to eat and encourage thorough chewing, thus supporting oral and dental hygiene.
For more variety: Other product variations
To cater to the individual preferences of different British Shorthair cats, ROYAL CANIN British Shorthair Adult is also available as wet food in gravy. If you are considering a mixed feeding, simply follow our feeding recommendations to ensure your BKH receives the right amount of wet and dry food.

A house cat with nobility. The exclusive diet for British Shorthair cats characterized by their gentle, round appearance and incredibly thick, short fur gives the British Shorthair the irresistible charm of a teddy bear. The strong, well-built body of the British Shorthair requires more energy to maintain the health of muscle mass and joints than a delicate cat. British Shorthairs tend to gulp down their food without chewing. Therefore, they are prone to dental problems, which should be prevented.
